On July 15, 2024, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt visited the World RoboCup 2022 at BITEC Bangna, with Bangkok serving as the Host City. He expressed gratitude to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University, for organizing the event with 17 leading Thai universities.
The event featured robotic demonstrations, including football-playing robots, rescue robots, home robots, and service robots, as well as hands-on activities for children. Participants from 45 countries joined, fostering global collaboration between academia and industry.
Governor Chadchart envisioned using drones for infrastructure inspection, firefighting robots, waste collection robots, and canal-cleaning robots in Bangkok, enhancing work efficiency without replacing human jobs.
